This blog is about a 4-weeks-journey wich will start in Mai 2016 with my recumbentbike from Bavaria to Rome.
Starting in my hometown in Bavaria next to the lake Chiemsee I´m going to cycle to Innsbruck along the river Inn where I´m going to use the train up to Brennero pass.
From here I´ll follow the cyclepath to Bozen and than next to Trento heading eastwards to Mestre visiting Venice. Back to west my way will lead me to Verona.
Back on the Via Claudia Augusta I will go south to Bologne the first part of my tour will be finished.
After having a look to that great city I will take the train for a 1 1/2 h trip to Florence as there are again steep ascents as some of you will know.
Now we are in Toscany and I´m looking forward to visit this region after more than 15 years.
Florence offers you a huge range of cultural opportunities and as I´ve got some more days off I plan to have a closer look to the some of the museums there.
I´ve been there for my first time with school at the age of 17 – so let´s look what has happen since than.
Heading west along the river Arno I will visit the small town of Vinci – where Leonardo was born. There is an interesting museum where the life of this famous person is explained.
Heading towards the ocean I will also visit Lucca, Pisa and perhaps Viareggio.
Now we leave the cultural path and the beach is my aim where also many nataural reserves will be crossed and the graves and towns of the etruscans.
Finally my way will lead my to region of Lago di Bolsena and so I´ve got the last kilometers through the country towards Rome.
Here I´ve got booked already two nights and I´m going to explore this fantastic city.
Finally I´ll take my nighttrain back to Germany – with many fantastic pictures and new friends…
Looking forward to this great journey with it´s beaches and old towns…
